LIFE CYCLE AND MIGRATION

Many of our freshwater fish send part of their life in the sea. This migration between freshwater and sea is called Diadromy. There are three main groups

ANAdromy

These species spend most of their adult life in the sea. Migrating up fresh waterways to spawn. The larvae are then washed back to the ocean to mature and grow. Examples: Lamprey - Kanakana and Salmon
